Development of a genetic algorithm-based graph model for conflict resolution for optimizing resolutions in environmental conflicts

Abstract Graph model for conflict resolution (GMCR) is a robust tool resolving disagreements among parties with contradictory interests in potential conflict. In GMCR, decision-makers (DMs) and their preferences are determined. The DMs defined as people, parties, or groups having the authority to make decisions power get these approved. This definition excludes some stakeholders no ability exert decisions, like natural environment. Therefore, this study aims find an impartial viewpoint representing environment's interests. A new GMCR based on genetic algorithm (GA) optimization proposed modify optimize final of regarding environment benefits. Having been applied real-world case study, methodology showed competence satisfying fundamental acceptable extent. about endangered seasonal lake, where there contention between governmental agricultural sectors. results revealed that disagreement two conflicting could be resolved by modifying current agreement consider both groups' demands. Finally, GA, incorporated proved technique complex environmental conflicts.
